One person is dead after another serious crash on Highway 97, near Chetwynd Tuesday night.

Chetwynd RCMP say the single vehicle collision occured 19.5 kilometres northeast of Chetwynd.

The highway was closed for much of the evening, as the RCMP and BC Coroner's Service investigated the incident.

Police are not revealing details at this time. They say the name of the victim is not being released, pending notification of next of kin.

This is the second fatal collision on Highway 97 near Chetwynd in less than a week. On July 26th, one person died in a two vehicle collision 2 km south of the town.
