Three men and one male youth from Fort St John are facing charges after a pepper spray attack over the weekend.

A 21 year old male was pepper sprayed and assaulted after a confrontation during a loud house party on 87th Avenue just after 4 AM on Saturday.

Police say the four suspects fled the scene after the attack. When police made arrests in the case, a can of pepper spray was found in the vehicle.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries. RCMP are recommending charges of assault against an 18 year old and a 20 year old male, and assault with a weapon against another 20 year old male and a 16 year old male youth. No names have been released.

In a related case, a 20 year old male is facing a charge of careless use of a firearm. As the pepper spray victim was being assaulted, a gun accidentally fired into the floor inside the house.
