It seems odd that Bill Henderson didn't make it big, particularly when one considers how few male jazz singers emerged during the 1960s. Complete Vee Jay Recordings, Vol. 2 [1993], the second of two CDs, continues the reissuing of all of his 1959-61 recordings for Vee Jay. Although there are a few lightweight tracks, most of the selections find Henderson swinging lightly or wringing honest emotion out of the ballads.
