Atreyu's acerbic approach to metalcore -- merging Alex Varkatzas' caustic gutturals and Brandon Saller's melodic underpinnings with thrashing hardcore and continuous double-bass shots to the gut -- rocketed the guys straight to the top of the underground scene.
