Formed in 1990 by middle-school students from the Mexican town of Nueva Rosita, Coahuila to participate in a local festival, Yahari (named after the Japanese word that means the unexpected) signed with a local label to release their debut album called Lo Inesperado in 1992. Mostly playing {cumbia}, the Colombian northen coast {folk}-dance music, Yahari recorded Mensaje En La Luna in 1993 and Me Late El Corazon, featuring the hit single "El Negro Bombón," in 1994. The { ropical} ensemble brought their catchy up-tempo style to the U.S. in 2001 to promote their successful full-length record La Vaca. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
