G-Pal (born George Pallikaris) spent his childhood in Northern Greece plugging away at his synthesizer in attempts to reproduce the classical electronic compositions of Vangelis but was rescued by a teenage discovery of the embryonic rave rhythms of the time. Relocating to New York City after high school, G-Pal began experimenting with self-production and after a year of shopping the results around, his volatile and smart tech-house found a home at labels like Low Pressings and Intrinsic Design as well as more notable distributors like Bedrock and Plastic City. In the dying months of 1999, work began for what would later become his 2000 full-length debut Life. The LP consisted entirely of unreleased material and was built upon Pallikaris' protracted worry about adding to the deluge of dance artist albums that preferred showcasing a series of singles over album consistency. ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide
