Studied a few weeks with John Cage, but otherwise self-taught. Pianist, guitarist. Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard. Pioneered scores in open instrumentation, in open cueing systems, scores for non-musicians, and, along with others, scores in verbal instructions only.
