Naast

One of Paris' mid-00s Rock revival scene's first and most famous representent, Naast also is that same movement's most disputed talent. They released a first Ep in 2007 (« Mauvais garçon »), followed by the « Antichambre » LP that same year, both displaying 60s French Pop and Ramones influenced tunes with French-sung lyrics. While for some, the band was seen as a savior in a record industry ruled by TV shows, others saw in Naast a bunch of uncreative, retrograde teenagers wishing they could have lived the Ramones era, and for whom strings would have been pulled by one band member's ex-rock critic father. A 2007 accident involving the band's singer (he attacked a 15 years old teenager with a fork, leaving him half-blind) only threw more fuel into the fire.
