The therapeutic qualities of music have been tapped by Israel-based teacher, counselor, and singer/songwriter Rabbi David Zeller. A former student of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, Zeller has continued to use music to express his growing knowledge of Jewish spirituality, transpersonal psychology, and meditation. The executive director of the Yakar Center for Tradition and Creativity, an orthodox educational institution in Israel, Zeller has led weekend retreats in Jewish meditation and has conducted workshops in North America since 1972. In 1975, he served as associate director and professor at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, a doctoral program in California, and founded the Network of Conscious Judaism five years later. He later founded Shirat Shlomo (Hebrew for "Song of Solomon") as a place where people could celebrate the joys of singing and dancing. Zeller has released four cassettes of healing, relaxing, and meditative songs. ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide
